Certainly they are not the first to market with Lithium-Ion technology, but they have done it right. Not only do you get the benefits of the lighter weight of the Lithium-Ion batteries coupled with more power and longer run times, but they have gone the extra step to include an indicator system that beeps when the battery is getting low, when the drill is getting overloaded, and when you have reached your desired torque setting. If thats not enough, these drills are backward compatible so you can use your old batteries and the drills know whether you are using your Lithium-Ion (new) battery or your Nickel (old) batteries. How smart is that? They have even figured out a way to preserve your favorite clutch settings, by providing an independent switch from drilling to driving mode, so you dont have to keep re-setting them.
